Want to be a Global Rower?
“I have been a part of six Olympics and many other World Championships and World Cups. I am excited to help today’s young people learn more about the world by actually SEEING it and LIVING it. Life should be explored in person, not only by reading about it!”

Our Mission
DIRA is committed to the ideal of making the world a better place through in-depth, first-person experiences where rowing can advance a better understanding of the world in which we all live. It’s dedicated to providing international experiences to all youths, regardless of economic status, race, religion, or any other bias. Athletics, language, culture, and history are intertwined to help today’s youths become true global citizens of tomorrow.
How to Get Involved
As a rower, we ask that you contact your coach and tell him/her about our program.
Have your coach reach out to our Board for assistance in setting up a program.
We will also set up recruiting events open to anyone in a specific region.
Groups will be identified, and then the learning begins.
Groups of rowers and support staff will be regionally identified to enhance travel planning and logistics from a specific airport to our destination.
The target age is Sophomore and Juniors in high school.
Rowers of all abilities are welcome to apply.
Scholarships vary by need. Remember, groups are not created based on ability to pay. We want everyone to see and experience the world through rowing.
